BLOCK 1 – Prepare
In Block 1, we prepare you to become job ready. You will receive pre-employment training through practical and hands-on activities in a relaxed and supported environment with small class sizes.
Once you have finished Block 1, you will be prepared to meet the needs of employers with:
- Good work ethic
- Good communication skills
- Understanding workplace expectations
- Professional boundaries
- Identifying and solving work related problems
You will also take part in the following:
- Taking part in group scenarios and role plays focusing on self-confidence, identifying strengths and work skills.
- Learning the effects of real life work situations, viewing both the causes and effects of a situation and how your behaviour and attitude can strain or help the situation.
Accredited units:
TLIG1001-Work effectively with others
SITXWHS001-Participate in safe work practices.
The delivery of these units will involve work book activities, use of internet, interactive activity requiring team participation using various provided resources.
All of this experience will help you on your way on the Youth Jobs Path.
Prepare-Trial-Hire
Industry Awareness Experiences
You will be involved in industry awareness experiences through various industries including: automotive, retail, hospitality, furniture restoration, disability services and horticulture.
BLOCK 2 – Prepare
In Block 2, we prepare you to become job ready by providing activities including visits to various industry sites so that you can get a good understanding of the different types of jobs you may like to work in.
We will teach you how to become job ready by giving you skills like:
- Better understanding the job market
- Job searching skills
- Résumé and cover letter-writing skills
- How to prepare for an interview
- How to prepare for your new job
- How to keep a job
You will also take part in the following:
- Scenarios/role plays to learn the effects of real life work situations. These will include approaching employers, rejection from employers, mock job interviews and how to best prepare for a job interview.
- You will also be able to select from a range of pre-loved business clothing which will be given to you so you will be interview-ready.
Accredited units:
VU21666 – Participate in job seeking activities
HLTFSE001- Follow basic food safety practices
The delivery of these units will involve workbook activities, use of internet, interactive activity requiring team participation using various provided resources.
All of this experience will help you on your way on the Youth Jobs Path.

Industry Awareness Experiences
Through various ranges of industry awareness experiences, you will get a good insight into many industries and what is required to work in that particular industry.
Only jobseekers referred by a Jobactive provider can participate in these programs
