Support Workers
We are seeking Support Workers looking to step into a rewarding role that allows you to combine your professional skill and passion for participant care.
Encompass currently has multiple roles available for experienced Disability Support Workers within the City of Greater Geelong. Roles will be assisting a range of NDIS participants within Encompass Community Services, Options & Connections, In Home Care & Recreation and Travel programs.
DUTIES
- Provide support and direct care to assist participants to achieve their personal goals as set out in their Individual and Support Plan.
- Provide support to participants in a way which encourages independence and skill development, follows Positive Behaviour Support strategies and complies with relevant guidelines and legislation.
- Complete administration tasks as required.
- Participate in training and other opportunities provided by Encompass Community Services Inc. management to develop skills and knowledge and enhance professional development.
- Attend all meetings associated with the business of Encompass Community Services Inc. and divisional areas as required
- Adhere to the Encompass Community Services policies.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Certificate III (Cert IV is desirable) in Disability or Community Care or willing to be trained
- Cert II First Aid & CPR
- National Police Check
- Working with Children’s Check
- Completed or willing to complete the NDIS ‘Worker Orientation’ module.
- Prior experience dealing with participants who have a disability
- Full Australian working rights

NDIA CLAIMS OFFICER
NDIA Claims Officer
A rewarding & exciting opportunity in the disability sector awaits you.
Encompass is seeking an NDIA Claims Officer that will be responsible ensuring efficient and ethical practice for claiming payment from the NDIS for services provided to participants in the program areas in accordance with the the service agreements in place.
DUTIES
- Provide varying levels of coordination and transition support to individuals to build capacity to achieve their set NDIS and individual goals.
- Actively participate in matching individual’s needs, wants and aspirations with community based or mainstream programs and options.
- Build NDIS participant and families capacity to understand and navigate service systems in the future.
- At all times operate autonomously of the services provided by Encompass Community Services INC-however this does not mean participants cannot choose to have associations with this service.
- Work within the funding level associated with each participant and track their funding as required.
- Adhere to Encompass management and NDIS reporting requirements as requested.
- Provide reports as required and maintain up to date records of participant implementation of plans and monitor expenditure as required.
- Manage and prioritise personal and divisional work requirements to ensure the maximum number of participants are being supported at any given time.
- Market the services of Plan Connect Australia and Encompass Community Services to participants and other services as required.
- Complete administration tasks associated with the success of the Plan Connect Australia services.
- Ensure a strong working relationship with appropriate staff at the NDIA and Local Area Coordinator
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the Disability and Community services Industries, including the NDIA, NDIS, NDIS Quality Safe Guards Commission and Victorian Complaints commission.
- Provide guidance and leadership to all members of staff within the team and address performance issues as they arise.
- Work Collaboratively with other Encompass Support Coordinators
- Develop and maintain accurate work instructions on the operations of the division.
- Participate in Encompass management meetings as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience as a NDIA claims officer would be advantageous
- Min 2 years general administration experience
- Understanding of the NDIS Provider Portal and processes
- High level computer literacy in Word, Excel, SupportAbility & Visual Care an advantage.
- Knowledge of and understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safe Guards Commission
- Previous experience in disability services is an advantage
