The Australian Government recently introduced the NDIS Worker Screening Check, an additional and national legislated compliance requirement to determine if a person is cleared to work with people with a disability. Encompass Community Services requires all employees to obtain the NDIS Worker Screening Check. An employment application requires the applicant to submit evidence that this check has been attained prior to commencing employment. 
Registered NDIS providers are now  required to report to the NDIS Commission on the vaccination status of their employees, in accordance with the Pandemic COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Specified Workers) Order (5). An employment application requires the applicant to submit evidence of proof of vaccination prior to commencing employment.

Support the Finance Manager in recording and retrieving financial details of the organisation, including maintaining financial records, processing payments, debt collection and reconciliations. The Finance Assistant will be responsible for providing timely and accurate information to support the overall financial statements of the organisation. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role including accounts payable, accounts receivable, competent in MYOB and Office 365.

 

DUTIES 

  • Reconciliation and processing of supplier invoices
  • Assist with customer and supplier inquiries
  • Work closely with the Finance team to ensure smooth operation of all finance matters.
  • Generating invoices and statements for account customers
  • Reconciling and processing daily payments
  • Reconciliation of petty cash fund and bank accounts as required
  • Weekly debt collection including reporting
  • Support the completion of month-end accounting processes and cycles including reconciliations and journals
  • Assist with resolution of finance related queries 
  • Assist with financial reporting requirements where necessary and end of year audit preparation and procedures; preparation of spreadsheets, reports and correspondence as required 
  • Liaising with other staff members across the organisation 
  • Carry out other appropriate duties as directed by the Finance Manager and the CEO 

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum 3years relevant experience
  • Proficient in MYOB and Office 365
  • Experience in Debt collection and Account payable
  • Full Australian working rights
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

Connect people with a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Plan to access a range of supports which align to the support items within their NDIS plan and suit their Individual needs, across one or more providers.  

Our Support Coordinators provide person-centred coordination of supports, with a focus on building the individual capacity of participants to direct their own network of supports. Assist in the development, monitoring, and effectiveness measurement of a comprehensive network of supports – with a view to co-design a whole of life plan for participants using a complex mix of mainstream, informal and NDIS supports.

DUTIES  

  • Provide varying levels of coordination and transition support to participants to build capacity to achieve their set NDIS and individual goals.  
  • Actively participate in matching participant needs, wants and aspirations with community based or mainstream programs and options  
  • Assist participants to achieve their goals by providing coaching and guidance at all levels of decision making while always making sure not to influence decisions with subjective opinions.  
  • Build the capacity of participants and their support networks to better understand and navigate the services and systems that are available to them  
  • At all times operate autonomously of the services provided by Encompass Community Service, whilst upholding the values and vision of the organisation   
  • Work within the funding level associated with each participant and track their funding as required, ensuring that Support Coordination is provided in a way which does not exceed available budgets.  
  • Provide reports as required and maintain up to date records of participant implementation of plans and monitor expenditure as required.  
  • Strictly adhere to the NDIS Code of Conduct and rules associated with Support Coordination.  
  • Independently manage and prioritise work requirements to ensure all participants receive an appropriate level of support at any given time.  
  • Complete administration tasks associated with the ongoing needs of the division of Encompass Plan Connect.  
  • Ensure a strong working relationship with appropriate staff at the Department of Health and Human Services, NDIA, and Local Area Coordination providers.  
  • Responsible for independently maintaining up to date knowledge of the various streams of support available for people with disabilities – including mainstream services  
  • Provide guidance and leadership to all clients, staff, and people in the community with whom you may work with.  
  • Work Collaboratively with other Encompass Support Coordinators  
  • Independently manage workflow to ensure KPI’s are met each week   
  • Document and bill for all billable actions performed while providing Coordination of Supports to participants   
  • Participate in regular clinical supervisions with the Plan Connect Manager   
  • Actively represent Encompass Community Services in dealings with the NDIA and other government bodies  
  • Independently triage and resolve points of crisis associated with the coordination of NDIS and mainstream supports  
  • Undertake tasks associated with specialised, complex person-centred planning under the general direction of the Plan Connect Manager.

  • Certificate IV in Disability, Mental Health or Community Service or equivalent experience 
  • First Aid Certification 
  • Drivers Licence 
  • NDIS Workers screening check

  • Experience in client facing roles

The NDIA Claims Officer is responsible for claiming payment from the NDIS for services provided to participants in the program area in accordance with the service agreements in place, the Claims Officer will ensure efficient and ethical practice.  

Supporting the management, staff and participants of Encompass Community Services with all administrative tasks required, while presenting a positive friendly and the professional manner at all times.

  • Process claims via the NDIS portal and other portals as required.
