Encompass Employment Services are recruitment specialists, specialising in inclusive employment.

We work with the industry to provide employers with casual/part-time or permanent staff;  and customised support for both you as an employer or job seeker of all abilities.

Starting out as one of only nine funded Disability Employment Services in Australia in 1985, Encompass is a leader in universal opportunities.

We work in partnership with industry sectors and provide employers with either casual/part-time or permanent staff.  If you are a potential employer looking to develop a diverse and inclusive workforce, we are here to match the right job with the right candidate for you!  Our job seekers are professionally assessed and ready to commence work.  When one of our job seekers starts work with you, we continue to support them and you for 12 months or more!

We also take the hassle out of hiring and do all the groundwork and paperwork for you.

Encompass can:

  • Match candidates to your staffing requirements
  • Refer candidates to you for an interview
  • Provide recruitment support (short listing, arrange interviews, reference checking)
  • We offer assistance with Workplace Modifications if required – at no cost

Connecting with Encompass is easy. You can connect with us in three ways:

1. Through Centrelink
You have the power to choose your Disability Employment Services (DES) provider. If you are going to Centrelink for assistance in finding employment, ask for Encompass as your disability employment service provider. We can help you liaise with Centrelink if you wish.

2. Register directly
You may register directly with Encompass. You will need to be eligible for disability employment services – we can help you through the eligibility assessment process. Contact us on 5222 3377 to find out more.

3. Transfer from another provider
If you are with another Disability Employment Services (DES) provider and are not making progress or are unhappy with the service, you can ask to transfer to Encompass.

To request a transfer, call the Job Services Australia Customer Service Line on 1800 464 800 and explain that you would like Encompass to be your new Disability Employment Services provider.

We can talk you through the process of changing providers and answer any questions you may have.

Disability Employment Services (DES) is an Australian Government initiative that helps people with disability find and maintain meaningful employment. Encompass is a Disability Employment Services provider. We are experts in providing a personalised service to help people with disability achieve their employment goals.

Employment Support Services (ESS) help people who have a permanent disability, illness or injury find and keep a job. Job seekers need long-term, regular support from their Disability Service provider to ensure they continue to succeed in their role.

Job seekers are usually referred to Disability Employment Service providers through Centrelink. You can call the Centrelink employment services line to find out if you are eligible to access Disability Employment Services. You have the power to choose Encompass as your Disability Employment Service provider.

When you call Centrelink explain that you would like Encompass to be your provider.

Alternatively, you can call Encompass on 5222 3377 and we will work with Centrelink to ensure you can access our services.

When you’re looking for a job, Encompass will:

  • discover your interests, strengths and talents
  • develop and regularly review your personalised Job Plan
  • create a great resume, prepare job applications, practice interview skills and attend job interviews
  • identify your skill gaps and offer additional training
  • connect with like-minded employers who align with your career goals.

When you have a job, Encompass will:

  • support you on-the-job in your workplace
  • assist you to travel to and from your workplace
  • purchase appropriate work clothes
  • adjust your workplace to suit your needs.

Our point of difference lies in how we interact with our Job Seekers and Employers once you are in your role. We stay on your employment journey for as long as you need us. That means we’ll work alongside you in your workplace, teaching and supporting you until you feel comfortable without us – that could be 6 months, a year, or longer. We provide a specialised and individualised service.

What’s Next?

Eligibility

You’re eligible for Disability Employment Services (DES) if you:

  • have a disability, injury, mental health condition or health condition
  • are over 14 years of age and are not yet retirement age
  • can sustain work for at least 8 hours per week
  • are not studying full time (unless you are a school student completing year 12)
  • are not working your full employment benchmark hours
  • are an Australian resident

You don’t need to receive an income support payment (e.g. disability support pension) to be eligible for DES.
